Cultivation Practices for Round Gourd (Tinda)

Soil…..Medium heavy well-drained fertile soil.
Seed rate/ha….1.50–2.00 kg
Spacing (cm)…..150 x 60 or 120 x 90
Manures & Fertilizer…..Apply 15–20 ton/ha of FYM at the time of land preparation. After 10 days of sowing, apply 80 kg N, 60 kg P, and 60 kg K; then after 30 days, apply 80 kg N/ha.
Irrigation…..Round gourd should be irrigated at 5–6 days intervals in summer and as per necessity.

Plant Protection

Leaf miner: Dichlorovos @ 1 ml/lit or Quinolphos 2 ml/lit.
Aphids, Jassids : Imidacloprid @ 7 ml/15 lit.
White fly : Difenthuron @ 12.5 gm/15 lit.
Thrips : Monocrotophos @ 2 ml/lit or Fipronil @ 2 ml/lit.
Downy mildew : Mancozeb and Metalaxyl-M @ 2.5 gm/lit.
Powdery mildew : Tebuconazole @ 0.5 ml/lit.
Fusarium wilt : Biosanjivani @ 5+5 gm/lit or Bavistin @ 2 ml/lit.
Alternaria leaf blight : Mancozeb and Metalaxyl-M or DM-45 @ 2.5 ml/lit.

Special Recommendation

• Apply 25 kg Nirmal Bio Power Gold granule per ha at the time of sowing near the root zone.
• Apply Nirmal Rizomica @ 250 gm/ha through drip or drenching method.
• Conduct 3 foliar sprays of Nirmal Bioforce @ 2 ml/lit at pre-flowering, flowering, and fruiting stages.
