Cultivation Practices for Ridge Gourd

Soil…. .Medium heavy well drained fertile soil.
Seed rate/ha………1.5-2.0 kg
Spacing (cm)…….. 150 x 60 or 120 x 60
Manures & Fertilizer..Apply 15-20 ton/ha. FYM at the time of land preparation. After 10 days of sowing, apply 100 kg N, 80 kg P & 80 kg K, then after 35 days apply 100 kg N/ha.
Irrigation ….During rainy season irrigation may be required during initial growth period. In summer irrigation should be given regularly at 5- 7 days interval or according to crop need.

Plant Protection

Leaf miner : Dichlorovos @ 1 ml/lit or Chloropyriphos @ 2 ml/lit or Quinolphos 2 ml/lit.
Aphids, jassids : Thiamethoxam 0.66 gm/lit.
White fly : Difenthiuron @12.5 gm/15 lit.
Thrips : Thiamethoxam 0.66 gm/lit or Fipronil @ 2 ml/lit.
Downy mildew : Mancozeb and Metalaxyl-M @ 2.5 gm/lit or Mancozeb 2 gm/lit or Tebuconazole @ 1 gm/lit.
Fusarium wilt : Biosanjivani @ 5+5 gm/lit or Bavistin @ 2 ml/lit.
Powedry mildew Tebuconazole @1 gm/lit or Difenoconazole @ 0.5 ml/lit.

Special Recommendation

• Apply 25 kg Nirmal Bio Power Gold granule per ha at the time of sowing near root zone
• Apply Nirmal Rizamica @ 250 gm/ ha through drip or drenching method.
• 3 foliar spray of Nirmal Bioforce @ 2ml/lit at pre- flowering, flowering & fruiting stage.
